Odisha’s para athletes continued their impressive run at the 2025 World Abilitysport Games, adding three more medals on the second day of competition on Saturday and strengthening India’s overall medal tally at the global event in Thailand.

Odisha’s Kamalakant Nayak delivered one of the standout performances of the day by clinching the Gold Medal in the Men’s Javelin Throw F53 category. With a commanding throw of 17.67 metres, Nayak outperformed the field by a significant margin. Fellow Indian athlete Muniyasamy Chellappa secured the silver with a throw of 12.59 metres, while Chinese Taipei’s Wei-Yu Hsu claimed the bronze with 9.39 metres. Nayak’s victory reinforces India’s dominance in the F53 category and marks an important achievement for Odisha in international para athletics.
