MAHONING VALLEY, Ohio - Local veterans are being treated to free Thanksgiving turkeys and pumpkin pies Saturday, thanks to the Cover Down Fund . The Mahoning Valley-based organization focuses on supporting veterans in their post-service lives; this comes in the form of health and wellness as well as promoting independence and financial stability for servicemembers.
Veterans who stop by the Trumbull County Veteran Service Commission in Warren at 12:00 p.m. Saturday November 22 will be able to walk away with not only a turkey, but also a pumpkin pie for their Thanksgiving dinner table.
"This is a simple way of saying thank you and ensuring our veterans feel supported during the holiday season," Herm Breuer, founder of the Cover Down Fund said.
Items will be distributed as supplies last
