MAHONING VALLEY, Ohio - A tradition more than 10 years in the making continued Friday evening as Salem Regional Medical Center held its annual gala fundraiser.

Gala guests enjoyed dinner, speakers and were also able to participate in an auction. The event also featured live performances from The John Reese Trio.

All of the money raised is set to support the hospital's new surgery and outpatient pavilion in Columbiana.

"As a nonprofit community hospital, we take care of everybody who walks through our doors regardless of their ability to pay," Salem Regional Medical Center CEO Anita Hackstedde told 21 News. "We feel blessed to be able to do that, and to have the support of the community to help us do that. It makes a huge difference for us."
