Hundreds of people crowded the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on Saturday for the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh’s annual Thanksgiving Distribution.
Some of them visited booths in the Health and Human Services Village, where they learned about resources such as voter registration, career guidance and health care options.
Others lined up near the convention center’s exit, where they patiently waited for their turn to be handed bags filled with Thanksgiving fixings and other groceries.
The Thanksgiving Distribution has been a tradition for the Urban League for more than two decades. Organizers say its goal is to meet neighbors in need “where they’re at and with dignity and respect.”
