A police officer who assaulted a teenager in police custody has been sentenced. PC Sam Clarke of Cheshire Police was convicted of assault by beating following a trial held in September at Sefton Magistrates Court.
The teenager’s mum, who the ECHO chose not to name , said he was a “vulnerable child” with learning difficulties and ADHD who has been caught up in county lines, where illegal drugs are transported from one area to another. When the incident took place, she said her son had been arrested for possession of a bladed article.
