GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCSC) — The owners of a Goose Creek store are holding a vigil on Saturday in remembrance of a man who was the victim of a deadly armed robbery and shooting on Nov. 15.
Berkeley County deputies responded to Myers Market just before 9:30 p.m. after the owner called 911 to report he could see a robbery in progress on his surveillance cameras.
When deputies arrived, they found one person dead inside the business.
Kymeek T. Traylor, 20, of Summerville, died at the scene of the shooting from injuries he sustained during the incident.
Harrison Charles Townsend, 18, of Nexton, was taken into custody less than 24 hours after the robbery, sheriff’s spokesperson Cpl. Carli Carr said. Townsend was charged with murder.
The store reopened on Monday.
