Political analyst Rick Mullaney discussed President Trump’s recent decision to sign a bill releasing Jeffrey Epstein files, describing it as a strategic move.
“The president had two reversals and one reversal is easy to understand, and the other reversal is still a mystery,” Mullaney said. “He said, go ahead, release them... because he knew he’s going to lose.”
Mullaney noted the puzzling earlier opposition Trump had to releasing the files despite previously advocating transparency.
“For many years, he was an advocate for releasing the files... However, something happened and he became adamantly opposed,” Mullaney said. “We don’t really know why.”
He also reflected on the historic 43-day government shutdown, the longest in U.S. history, and its political implications.
