ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
Invoking the title of the best-known television series about New Mexico ever — and, in the view of many, the best television series ever — the "Breaking Bad Habits" anti-litter campaign is producing tangible results.
Led by the Albuquerque Citizens Council and Imagine ABQ, 126 volunteers cleaned up litter in the International District of Albuquerque. Those talking part met at Albuquerque Fire Rescue Station 5, where they got trash bags and gloves and were able to collect 2,260 pounds of trash.
At the same time, social service organizations, including Albuquerque Community Safety, Anchor Behavioral Health and Crossroads for Women, spoke to unhoused people about resources available to them.
