Ninth-ranked Rhode Island closed its regular season with a commanding 38–10 win over Hampton on Saturday, locking up the Coastal Athletic Association title and securing a spot in the FCS Playoffs. The Rams improved to 10–2 overall and completed an unbeaten 8–0 run in conference play, while Hampton finished its season at 2–10.

Rhode Island dominated early, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and piling up 613 total yards by the end of the game. Hampton quarterback Earl Woods III made his first career start and provided most of the Pirates’ offense, throwing for 136 yards on 19 completions and adding 87 rushing yards along with a long touchdown run. Korede Sogbesan led Hampton defensively with 10 tackles.
