A chemical spill at a drug development company created a small amount of gas after mixing with heavy rainfall.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were called to Barric Lane, near Occold, Eye, at 6.33pm on Saturday.
Crews from Debenham, Needham Market, Stowmarket and Princes Street in Ipswich were sent to the scene after it was reported that phosphine had been spilt.
When crews arrived, they discovered that the chemical was being stored in five containers outside the main building of the drug development company.
The chemical reacted with the rain and created a small amount of gas.
While the fire service inspected the spill, they advised those on site to remain 100m away.
Suffolk police and the East of England Ambulance Service were also informed off the spill.
