Evidence of gunfire located at crash scene in North York: police

Evidence of gunfire was found at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash in North York Sunday morning, said Toronto police.

Officers responded to a crash at the Steeles Avenue West and Islington Avenue intersection around 6:24 a.m. Sunday, said Toronto police on social media.

Despite there being evidence of gunfire, no shooting victims have been located at this time.

A female driver of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital.

Police said in an earlier social media post that injuries from the collision “do not appear to be serious.”

The intersection is closed at this time while investigators remain at the scene.
