GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The Gainesville Police Department arrested a man who they say was involved in a burglary of a Metro PCS store.
They say the burglary happened Nov. 18 around 3:38 a.m. at the Metro PCS store located at 1103 N Main St. in Gainesville.
The store’s manager said she watched a man, later identified as 32-year-old Jonathan Thomas, load new phones from the store’s inventory into his backpack and another large bag on surveillance footage while the burglary was actively happening.
She said Thomas was also yelling at someone just outside the back door to bring him another bag.
Police say Thomas stole a total of 64 new phones, worth more than $6,500.
