Bernie Kosar's recovery journey is receiving national attention.
Kosar was featured in a segment on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" where reporter Jeremy Schaap visited the beloved former Browns quarterback at University Hospital in Cleveland.
Kosar detailed his recent medical struggles, noting that he was on the liver transplant list for two years before successfully receiving a transplant on Nov. 17 . Buy Cleveland Browns tickets
"I'm stunned. You look great. You look reborn," Schaap said to Kosar.
But for Kosar, things looked bleak. He said his weight was fluctuating up to 40 pounds a week because his liver couldn't process certain substances. Once a week Kosar had to get his stomach drained. He also told Schaap he suffered a couple of seizures.
