Authorities have arrested a teenager who is accused of stabbing his mom to death at their South Jersey condo.

The 17-year-old boy, of Mays Landing, was taken into custody on Saturday, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said in a Sunday statement. He faces charges of murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

The teen’s name is being withheld as he is currently charged as a juvenile.

A 911 call at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday reported that a juvenile was in possession of a knife at the Meadowbrook Condos in Mays Landing. When police arrived, they found 49-year-old Julissa Serrano inside a condo unit with multiple stab wounds, officials said.
