Cracking open a soda in the ‘90s and ‘00s was a whole different experience than it is today.
Growing up in Texas, I remember walking down the H-E-B soda aisle like it was an amusement park. There were neon bottles glowing, labels I couldn’t pronounce, and enough sugar to power a small city; somehow, the weirder the drink looked, the more we needed it.
But then, in the blink of an eye, some of the greatest sodas to ever grace H-E-B shelves and Stripes coolers just vanished. No warning, n chance to panic-buy and hoard them like the responsible soda-loving adults we are today.
Here are five discontinued sodas we’re still recovering from:
