JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is being charged with murder following a deadly shooting Saturday night at a Burger King.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says Dawud Burritt, 28, is responsible for a shooting at the Blanding Boulevard location near Collins Road.
Around 8:40 P.M. Saturday night, officers arrived to find two men with injuries. Despite medical care, 18-year-old victim Matthew Jackson died. The other victim was taken to a hospital and expected to survive, JSO says.
After reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses, JSO says investigators quickly identified Burritt as the shooter and arrested him Sunday morning.
"We offer our condolences to Jackson’s loved ones and wish a speedy recovery for the other victim in this act of violence," wrote JSO on social media.
