Syracuse, N.Y. ― 40 units in a Syracuse apartment complex will be without heat for at least tonight after a car crashed into the building, causing a gas leak, according to the Syracuse Fire Department.
No one was injured in the incident, but the crash, which ruptured the gas main into the building, could limit heating and other access in the building for an indeterminate amount of time, according to Elton Davis, executive deputy chief for the Syracuse Fire Department.
The Red Cross is on the scene providing for the residents and working to find temporary living situations for those displaced, Davis said. National Grid is also working on fixing the leak, he said.
