A Patriots win, a Colts loss and a Broncos bye left New England with the best record in the AFC after 11 weeks.
At 10-2, the Patriots are one of the few remaining teams not to have had a bye week yet. So there are other teams with two losses but fewer wins.
Coming off a game where the Patriots saw several players leave with injuries , the extra bye that comes with the top seed could be very valuable.
Where things stand in race for AFC’s No. 1 seed:
AFC Top seed W L T Pct PF PA New England 10 2 0 .833 318 226 Denver 9 2 0 .818 257 192 Indianapolis 8 3 0 .727 341 229
The Broncos (9-2), who were on their bye week, are still even with the Patriots in the loss column. The Colts fell to the Chiefs in overtime to drop to 8-3.
All six of the Indianapolis’ remaining games are against tea
