LOWELL — It didn’t take long for the Fleet to score their first goal of the season.

Less than 90 seconds into the game, Susanna Tapani sent the puck toward the net, and the forward got a bounce off a Montréal stick to give the Fleet an early lead in Boston’s season opener.

The Fleet scored an insurance goal in the third, and Boston blanked the Victoire with a 2-0 win in front of 5,166 fans on Sunday at Tsongas Center.

Fleet goaltender Aerin Frankel made 25 saves for her third career shutout for Boston.

“I’m just excited that we got our first win at home in front of all these fans. It feels good,” Frankel said. “I felt like I was seeing the puck well, but the players really helped me out tonight. Our systems are suffocating and hard to play against, so they made my job pretty easy.”
