The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has launched an investigation into an officer-involved shooting that took place Saturday in Pike County.
According to information released by ALEA, the Troy Police Department requested the investigation after an encounter that left one suspect hospitalized.
“The incident occurred after officers with the Troy Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop,” said an ALEA statement. “The driver, later identified as Justin Cook, 29, of Banks, refused to stop and a pursuit ensued. Ultimately, officers with the Troy Police Department located the vehicle and Cook at a residence in the 2000 Block of Pike County 6629, located within Pike County.
