MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WOWT) - No. 12 Creighton extended its winning streak to 20 matches and secured a sixth consecutive BIG EAST Tournament championship with a sweep of Xavier on Sunday.
The conference tournament’s top-ranked Bluejays closed out the nationally-televised match against the second-seeded Musketeers 25-19, 25-20, 25-20.
Senior outside hitter Ava Martin led all scorers with 17 kills and was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
Fellow seniors setter Annalea Maeder and middle blocker Kiara Reinhardt also delivered in the title match. Maeder finished with 46 assists, while Reinhardt added eight kills on .500 hitting.
Creighton will now await its NCAA Tournament destination. The program is hosting an open Selection Show watch party on Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Old Mattress
