LEXINGTON, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – As the holidays approach, there’s some relief for tens of thousands of TSA workers. A TSA spokesperson says about 90 percent of employees have now received their back pay following the end of the government shutdown.
The remaining workers are expected to receive their back pay on Monday. TSA employees missed several paychecks during what became the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. The pay restoration comes just as the holiday travel rush is picking up. TSA expects to screen nearly 18 million travelers during Thanksgiving week.
