HEDWIG VILLAGE, Texas (KTRK) -- By a sheer stroke of luck, a Hedwig Village police officer says the suspects wanted for shooting a Houston police officer drove right past her minutes after the shooting.
Houston police officer Jake Parker was on his way to work in his personal vehicle when he was shot at Gessner and Hempstead Highway in what police are describing as a road rage episode.

Hedwig Village police officer Julie Buhs said she was wrapping up a traffic stop on Echo Lane near the Katy Freeway when a pickup truck with underlighting and a 'bad influence' sticker drove past. She recognized the vehicle as the suspects' after hearing a description on the police radio.
