A 20-year-old was allegedly driving almost double the speed limit in Manchester, Vermont, Saturday morning.

Vermont State Police say a trooper spotted Jacob Kosakowski traveling at an "imprudent speed" in high excess of the posted speed limit of 55 mph at mile marker 30 on US Route 7.

Radar confirmed Kosakowski, of Wallington, New Jersey, was traveling at 104 mph, police said, so a traffic stop was initiated around 9:50 a.m., and Kosakowski was issued a criminal citation for excessive speed.

Kosakowski was ordered to appear in Bennington County Superior Court on Jan. 26.
