ANDERSON, S.C. —

T.L. Hanna High School's band is used to performing under Friday-night lights, but this Thanksgiving, they're taking on one of Chicago’s biggest stages.

The Anderson-based high school was one of 10 schools selected from across the nation to perform in the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade.

“We’re the second band from South Carolina to actually ever go to this [parade],” said Andrew Gregory, T.L. Hanna's band director.

Ninety band members will trade in the football field for State Street, home of the nation's second-largest Thanksgiving Parade.

“I think the opportunity for kids in Anderson to get to go somewhere as cool as Chicago, especially for an event like the parade, definitely makes it worth it,” Gregory said.
