Marshall’s run in the NCAA men's soccer tournament ended on Sunday in a second-round loss to No. 15 seed North Carolina State, 2-0, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

“I’m very proud of our guys,” Thundering Herd coach Chris Grassie said via release. “Everyone knows we had a crazy amount of injuries this season, but our guys battled through. I thought we did everything we planned today, and we were unlucky. Our seniors were absolute class and represented Marshall amazingly. I’m so proud to be associated with this team.

"Our fans travelled really well. Seeing all the green in the stands gives us such a lift.”

The Wolfpack converted two of its four corner kicks for goals and kept Marshall on its back foot.
