In the new film " Die My Love ," Grace (Jennifer Lawrence) — on the surface — suffers severe postpartum depression materializing in manic episodes. Time and space become a formless construct through which Grace’s raw emotions burst forth, shattering her life into pieces. Merely describing her episodes as a product of childbirth does the film — and Lawrence’s fearless performance — a disservice.

Grace and Jackson (Robert Pattinson) are newly married with a toddler, recently moved into Jackson’s old family home. That’s about all of the setup director Lynne Ramsey provides. Where the film goes from here is more than merely a spiral, but a surreal living nightmare, throbbing with the doldrums of the passive existence so many of us find ourselves in. Arts & Entertainment
