ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
A gas explosion damaged a residential home on Walker Drive in northeast Albuquerque at approximately 10 p.m. Sunday, according to the Albuquerque Fire Department.
AFD Lt. Jason Fejer confirmed that one person was transported to the hospital following the incident. The individual’s condition has not been released.
Fejer said utility crews from NM Gas and PNM are on scene working to isolate gas and electrical lines to prevent further hazards.
Fire crews have established a perimeter, blocking off Walker Drive for about a block in each direction as they continue clearing the area.
Residents in the vicinity reported feeling a forceful blast that shook nearby homes, though no additional injuries have been reported at this time.
