At least one person has died and ten others have been injured after a car drove into a crowd in Japan.
Emergency services were called to the Adachi Ward area of central Tokyo shortly after 12.30pm on Monday after reports that a vehicle had struck several pedestrians.
Witnesses say around a dozen people were hit before the driver abandoned the car and tried to flee on foot.
An elderly man, believed to be in his 80s, died at the scene, the Mirror reported.
A woman in her 20s was also found unconscious and seriously injured. She was rushed to hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
Tokyo Police chased the suspect for around 500m before detaining him.
