A 28-year-old man has been sentenced to prison after crashing a £100,000 supercar into a house, causing significant damage and injury. Zachary Hocking was driving a McLaren 570gt V8 at a staggering 91 mph in a 30 mph zone when he lost control of the vehicle. The incident occurred in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, in December 2023. Upon impact, the car exploded into a fireball, igniting a fire that engulfed the property. Hocking pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Last week, he was sentenced to 28 months in prison at Preston Crown Court. In addition to his prison term, Hocking has been banned from driving for 74 months. He will be required to pass an extended driving test before he can regain his driving licence. The court's decision highlights the severe consequences of reckless driving and the dangers it poses to the community.
