With the Budget approaching on Wednesday, there is new concern for Brits thinking of switching to an electric car. There are currently 1.4 million EVs on UK roads and motoring expert Jonathan Such has weighed in on the government’s rumoured pay-per-mile EV charge.

There has been considerable speculation that Labour could introduce a charge of around 3p per mile, although over the past week messaging from ministers has varied and only the Chancellor's speech on Wednesday will reveal what is or isn't going to happen. Jonathan said 3p per mile could significantly increase running costs, particularly for longer journeys.
