SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Florida gas prices rose 20 cents per gallon last week, as millions of Americans prepare to travel for Thanksgiving, AAA says.
In its annual Thanksgiving Travel Forecast, AAA says of the record-setting 81.8 million Americans expected to travel 50 miles or more, 90%, or 73 million, will drive.
In Florida, more than 4.25 million residents are expected to venture out. Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons are forecast to be the busiest times on the road.
“Florida gas prices jumped 20 cents last week, following a familiar trend of rising after a series of declines,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group.
