The government is expected to announce an injection of billions of pounds into the Electric Vehicle (EV) scheme this week.

Rachel Reeves will deliver the Government's Autumn Budget on Wednesday, November 26, with an extra £1.3 billion forecast to be used to fund an initiative encouraging the use of EVs.

The Electric Car Grant scheme began in July, as part of the move to zero emission vehicles initiative, however, early research has suggested this has not entirely helped to attract new buyers.

It has been suggested there will be money in the Budget to create more charging points, and a consultation regarding aiding those who do not have a driveway to charge cars.
