NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) - A state representative who served Ledyard, Montville, and Norwich has passed away.

The New London Democratic Town Committee announced the death of Rep. Kevin Ryan .

Ryan represented the 139th House District and recently served as assistant deputy speaker.

The New London committee said Ryan’s commitment to public service will be greatly missed.

Details about his death were not released.
