NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. — Two parents in Newberry County have been arrested and charged by the Newberry County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) after two children were shot in a home.
Tyresa Najae Cunningham, 28, and Tyleik Jaewon Sanders, 21, have both been charged with unlawful neglect toward a child, and Sanders faces an additional charge of obstruction of justice after deputies say he disposed of the firearm before NCSO deputies arrived at the scene.
Deputies were called to a residence in the 2700 block of Wilson Road following a report of a shooting involving a child around 6:35 p.m. Sunday, November 23. Arriving at the scene, deputies located two children, a four-year-old and a two-year-old, both with gunshot wounds. The children were transported to a local hospital for treatment with non-lif
