COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has provided new details on a chase that led to a crash outside an apartment complex last week.
RCSD said a deputy tried to stop a vehicle on Broad River Road at 10:15 p.m. on Nov. 20 for illegal window tint. The department did not disclose what led to the attempted traffic stop when the chase was first reported.
The sheriff’s department said the driver did not stop and sped up after the deputy’s blue lights were activated.
RCSD said a short chase ended when the vehicle stopped at the dead end of a parking lot off Broad River Road and Riverhill Circle. Photos and video from the scene show the suspect vehicle wrecked outside the Riverwalk Vista apartment complex.
RCSD said the driver ran from the scene and was not found. A
