Households have been urged to make one easy phone call to help knock an estimated £176 off their energy bill .
Billpayers could save nearly £200 by installing a smart meter . They are installed at no extra cost by your supplier, and people who use them have said it saves them £176 on average, according to Smart Energy GB. Most people surveyed who have them installed (57%) say that they believe they are better off with it. A third of households now use smart meters, and 39% of those who do say they feel more in control of their house bills as a result.
They also enable users to maximise their benefits from energy reward schemes, which incentivise and reward customers for using energy at off-peak times.
