A casual halal restaurant that opened earlier this year in Lower Paxton Township is expanding to Cumberland County.
In early December, Halal Munch will open at 33 E. Simpson St. in Mechanicsburg.
Owner Arslan Ghumman said since opening at 4315 Jonestown Road last spring diners have been requesting additional locations.
“Personally I didn’t expect that much love from the people,” he said, adding he’s received requests from customers in York and Lancaster.
Halal Munch specializes in burgers rice platters with chicken and lamb, gyros, and chicken wings and nuggets.
Ghumman, a former district manager for a restaurant in Brooklyn, New York, moved to central Pennsylvania to be closer to family. He used his past work experience to open Halal Munch.
