SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Notre Dame women’s basketball team has jumped up in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released on Monday afternoon.
The Fighting Irish (4-1) moved up five spots from No. 24 to No. 19 after picking up a big win over then-No. 11 USC at home this past Friday. It was a much-needed bounce back win for the Irish after suffering the program’s worst loss in more than two decades a week prior against then-No. 14 Michigan.
Notre Dame’s only game this week is tonight at home against Central Michigan. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m.
As for other regional teams in the polls, Michigan (5-1) remains at No. 6 in this week’s poll after a 72-69 loss to No. 1 UConn. Michigan State (6-0) moved up from No. 22 to No. 20.
