KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas City porch pirate has been charged after he was caught red-handed carrying a stolen package.
Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records indicate that Curtis D. Bennett, 34, now faces 6 felony charges. Police say he admitted to stealing 7 packages worth more than $1,000.
The arrest happened on Thursday, Nov. 20, when officers said they spotted Bennet and another man carrying boxes near 82nd St.

When Kansas City Police Department officers activated emergency lights, they said one suspect ran. Bennett stayed behind and dropped the package he was carrying. He was arrested on the spot.
Investigators noted that surveillance footage was key to cracking the case.
