DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - Governor Kim Reynolds will present this year’s Iowa Award to Terry Branstad, former Governor of Iowa and U.S. Ambassador to China.
Branstad is the nation’s longest-serving governor with 22 years in office across two non-consecutive terms.
The Iowa Award is the state’s award recognizing “outstanding service of Iowans in the fields of science, medicine, law, religion, social welfare, education, agriculture, industry, government, and other public service.”
Former recipients include President Herbert Hoover, artist Grant Wood, First Lady Mamie Eisenhower and more.
