A 43-year-old woman and a yellow Labrador died Friday when her vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a truck in Lebanon County, police said.

Lancaster County resident Bethany L. Tomassetti was driving an SUV east on Route 322 when she crossed into the westbound lane and crashed around 5:16 p.m. near South Mountain Road, Cornwall police said.

Tomassetti’s vehicle collided with a farm truck hauling a hose trailer, police said. She and the yellow lab died at the scene.

Police said the truck’s driver, a 68-year-old Shippensburg man, was not hurt.

PennDOT assisted with cleaning up 500 gallons of diesel fuel that the wrecked truck leaked onto the road. Three fire departments and Lebanon County’s hazmat team were at the scene for about eight hours on Friday.
