A Mexican man who's been deported five times is facing federal charges in South Florida after he was found with tens of thousands of fentanyl pills hidden in a child's toy, authorities said.
Guillermo Higuera German, 37, made an initial appearance in federal court on Nov. 17 following an investigation by the DEA and Fort Lauderdale Police, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida said Monday.
Prosecutors said officers had approached and searched a vehicle driven by Higuera German, and a K-9 alerted officers to narcotics.
