MARANA, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Marana Police Department have identified the 81-year-old pedestrian who died from his injuries after he was struck by a vehicle.

Miguel Martinez, 81, was identified as the victim in the pedestrian crash.

According to MPD, officers and the Northwest Fire District responded to West Moore Road and North Sanders Road around 5:57 p.m. on Nov. 17 after reports of a pedestrian crash.

Upon arrival, they found Martinez with life-threatening injuries. The 81-year-old man was transported to the hospital and despite efforts, Martinez succumbed to his injuries on Nov. 18.

MPD reported that a Toyota Rav4, traveling westbound on West Moore Road, hit Martinez while he was in the roadway but not in a crosswalk. The driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impair
