The Chattanooga Area Food Bank does more than put the food on the table, they help connect families with vital resources like housing, health care and federal food assistance.

Letisia Corral is the Public Benefits Supervisor and said hunger is often linked to other challenges and her team helps people find the support they need.

"Sometimes people might think that because they work they cannot apply for benefits, for food stamp benefits. You can. Because it depends on your income. So even if you're working, you may not have enough income to supplement your food need," she said.

Corral's team also helps make sure people are getting the most out of their assistance by answering questions and walking them through the process, which can sometimes be complicated.
