NEWBURGH HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - A Cleveland Clinic valet driver stopped for speeding Friday morning on Interstate 77, in a patient’s car.
Lamar Williams, 19, was stopped around 1:30 a.m. by Newburgh Heights police while driving 128 miles per hour in a $90,000 Mercedes in a 60 mph zone.
Body camera footage shows Williams telling officers he worked as a valet driver at Cleveland Clinic for about a month and took the car to get food during his shift.
“Why were you going that fast man?” an officer asked.
“Sorry man, I was just trying to get back to work man,” Williams said.
When asked how fast he was going, Williams initially said 80 or 90 mph. The officer told him he was driving 128 mph.
