NORTHERN INDIANA (WPTA) - Amazon announced plans on Monday to invest $15 billion to construct data center campuses in northern Indiana, adding to the Hoosier state’s data center boom.
According to a news release by Amazon, the investment will support its AI and cloud computing technologies, creating 1,100 new high-skill jobs, including data center engineers, network and security specialists, and other technical roles.
The announcement did not include a potential location or project scope, stating only that the data center campuses will be built in northern Indiana.
The project will add 2.4 gigawatts of data center capacity in the region, the tech giant says, and continues its presence in Indiana.
