1Man from New Mexico arrested for public intoxication after stumbling through Wendy’s lot
STAFFORD, VA – A 66-year-old man was arrested late Friday night after reportedly bumping into cars in a Wendy’s parking lot while visibly intoxicated.
Deputy C. A. Osborne arrived at the Wendy’s at 145 Garrisonville Road around 11:17 p.m. and found the suspect, later identified as Dennis Sykes of Las Cruces, New Mexico, staggering through the lot. Sykes had slurred speech, reeked of alcohol, and was so unsteady that Deputy Osborne had to physically catch him to prevent a fall.
Sykes was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
