SHREVEPORT, La. -- Temporary lane closures are scheduled next month for a portion of Kings Highway to for drainage work, city officials said Monday in a news release.

The construction zone will be between Interstate 49 and Interstate 20. Closures will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 8-12.

The highway won't be fully closed; instead, one travel lane will be closed at a time to allow for traffic flow.

The drainage work is within the travel lanes, which requires workers and equipment to be positioned closed to moving traffic, the city said.

City officials remind motorists to reduce their speed in the work area. Flaggers will direct traffic.
