LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — It's the season of giving, and we're highlighting one Little Rock teen who decided to use his love of running for a bigger purpose.
Ben Blackmon, a senior at Episcopal Collegiate School, has now added the title of philanthropist to his resume after he organized a race that turned into something bigger than he ever imagined.
In the spring, he created a race that took place at Burns Park in North Little Rock.
To his surprise, he ended up raising $10,000 and donated it all to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
"I did not foresee this, but it was really rewarding, signing that big, big check. But it's really cool. So I do plan on doing it again with Children's and keeping that relationship with them," described Blackmon.
